Public Announcement: Appeal for Support for Gideon Orphanage Home

On 22nd January 2025, a tragic fire broke out in one of the children’s rooms at Gideon Orphanage Home, causing extensive damage to the property and personal belongings.

The fire started at approximately 8:45 AM and quickly engulfed the room, destroying furniture, mattresses, and clothing. Thankfully, due to the swift response of our dedicated staff and nearby community members, the flames were extinguished without any casualties or injuries. The fire service also arrived promptly, and investigations are underway to determine the cause and full extent of the damage.

This unfortunate incident has deeply impacted the children and staff. The affected room was one of the boys’ dormitories, making the loss particularly challenging. We now face an urgent need to rebuild and replace essential items, including:

• Mattresses and beds
• Clothing for the children

We, the management of Gideon Orphanage Home, are immensely grateful to everyone who assisted during this difficult time. As we work to rebuild, we are appealing to individuals, organizations, and the government for financial and material support to help us restore a safe and comfortable environment for the children.
